New
York JUNE 20, 2000 -- Curious Pictures, a subsidiary of iNTELEFILM Corporation,
today announced the company created the new animated series "Sheep In
The Big City."
The
new cartoon adds to this TV season's roster of Curious-created content,
including HBO's "A Little Curious" and Oxygen Network's
"Avenue Amy."
"Sheep In The Big City," which premiers with 13 half-hour episodes in
Fall 2000, was created by Emmy award-winning Curious Pictures Director
Mo Willems. The cartoon series chronicles the sardonically perilous
adventures of a sheep on the lam.
The show tells the story of a sheep who runs away from the farm and
hides out in The Big City because a Top Secret Military Organization
is after him. Reminiscent of Rocky & Bullwinkle, each half hour of "Sheep
In The Big City" is broken into cliffhanger chapters strung together
by an omnipresent narrator, and features satirical skits, commercial
and TV spoofs. Willems' previous work with Cartoon Network includes
creating several minute shorts such as "Quick-Draw McGraw" for
the "Shorties" series.
The cartoon is a traditionally animated 2D show, digitally painted in
Toonz operating on a Windows NT platform. The background is colored
and textured in Photoshop.
"Sheep In The Big City' adds to Cartoon Network's library of original
TV content from our company," said Richard Winkler, executive
producer, Curious Pictures. "This new cartoon exemplifies our heritage
with the Cartoon Network. We look forward to our continued creative
collaboration with them to develop fresh styles and comedy-driven cartoons."
