Hollywood, Calif., Oct. 6, 1999 -- The latest in the series of identities for CBS produced by REZN8 is the NFL on CBS, which debuted September 12th. REZN8, founded in 1988, has had a long-standing relationship with CBS and CBS Sports beginning when the branding and design firm was commissioned to create the entire graphics package for the 1992 Winter Olympics. Since then, REZN8 has won Emmy awards for the 1992, 1994 and 1998 Winter Olympics, and has designed cutting-edge graphics packages for the CBS 1998 and 1999 Fall Campaigns. The concept for the 1999 NFL graphics package is that there is a CBS Sports control center hooked up to the entire world through media, technology and communication. A pre-game show emphasizes day-to-day operations of a massive undertaking of all the sports CBS broadcasts, offering instant coverage of every game.
A separate open
actually starts the game. From the control center, a beam of high energy,
flows rapidly underground to a converging disc, which focuses the power
and shoots it upward through the stadium floor with great force. Graphically,
it is the catalyst that makes one's eye follow from the control center
up to the surface, while powering everything along the way. The theme is based on structural elements; an architectural theme and an industrial feel combined with a feeling of electricity, lightning and power. This is the same theme that REZN8 carried through all the supporting animations used as backdrops to the content graphics. Also provided were numerous backgrounds, title sequences, sponsored segments, billboards, and transitions. Applications utilized were Discreet 3D Studio Max R3.0, Adobe After Effects 4.1, Eyeon Digital Fusion 2.5, Adobe Photoshop 5.0, Adobe Illustrator 8.0 CREDITS: CBS Sports
