Bug Bomb Strike

This scene is the climax for Episode 103, where the baby plasma bug is turned into a working bomb. Again, the scope of the battle going on, just a few seconds worth, is astounding - there are literally hundreds of models going at once in that image. .

Some other things to watch for in this clip:

* The level of detail is incredible - check out the video screen (where the Sargent pushes the cargo bay door release) has a roll bar from not being properly "synchronized.".

* The pacing of the shots and the camera angles (particularly from the ground up, looking at the effect of the explosion) is well done.

*At the end of the clip, the evil "Intelligence" officer cracks a malicious smile. This is where Troopers shines when it comes to characer development, when a look means more than any series of actions. In the Sydney Pollack film "Jeremiah Johnson," Robert Redford barely spoke more than 15 minutes of dialog in a two hour film, yet the film was excellent. The excellent animators at Foundation seem to have taken this to heart; the show actually has moments where you nearly forget that the characters are 3D.
